Ali is a Technical Solutions Architect in Software Defined Wide Area Networking (SDWAN) within the Enterprise Networking division at Cisco. He specializes in large scale enterprise and service provider SDWAN networks focusing on routing, encryption and security. In this role, he is responsible in designing and implementing network environments to secure connectivity for critical infrastructure.
Ali Shaikh joined Cisco Systems as part of the Viptela acquisition in 2017, a leader in SD-WAN technology. As part of his tenure at Viptela and then at Cisco, Ali has been responsible for designing and implementing infrastructure that secures large hospitals, ATM networks, bank branches and manufacturing plants. One of his largest projects was modifying the network infrastructure of 6000 bank branches across the United States over the course of 9 months. As critical infrastructure becomes increasingly networked, Ali's focus is on researching, designing networks to provide agility and enhanced security. Ali has a degree from the University of Toronto in Physics and currently resides in Atlanta, GA.
